after the first ten days

This is the first week for me to speak English formally. There’re two main problems:

First, I’m scared to open my mouth, that is, I have no confidence and courage to talk to others. You know what? Since I listened to videos I told myself there would be a very long silence-time and I‘ve never said a word. That’s the result, I have no idea whether I can say. Believe it or not, if you suggest to yourself there’s something wrong with you every day, something must be wrong.

But now I ‘ve found a few foreign friends to talk to , I totally overcame the fear. Congratulations to me to took the first step.

Second, the most obvious problem is that I have difficulty expressing myself. After two and a half years’s accumulation, I can understand what people say. Though there’re many phrases and sentences in my mind, it doesn’t mean I can speak it out. Try to imagine, you know something but you can’t tell others about the things you know. Well, I’m sure you have this kind of experience. I do! So what? I need to learn how to think and how to speak, the way native speakers do.

I’ve spent a lot of time to imitate them. You  have to correct your pronunciation and intonation, you can have your own style, but not now. To be simple, do what others do . During this period of time,I learned  how to sing a song. The way you sing is the same as that you learn a language. English is so soft kind of music that it makes me feel peaceful.

There’s some little tips for you. If it’s  hard for you to find proper friends, try to change your role. You can be a Mandarin  teacher, believe me they’d love to . Then you two can learn together, good idea, isn’t it ?
