Cloud computing has changed the ITC industry.

Companies like Amazon, Google and Microsoft have built large computing clusters of as many as 1 million servers.

Each server can run multiple virtual machines and these virtual machines are rented to customers.

This type of service, where virtual machines are rented, is called Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
