另外，只有Amazon自营（Sold by Amazon.com）出售的商品才可以通过LIVE CHAT的方式向客服要求价格保护，第三方出售的商品如果发现降价是无法再申请价格保护的。另外，申请价格保护的有效时间通常是在下完订单后，到商品SHIPPED发货之间的时间段，不过老白也尝试过在商品签收了近一个星期再要求降价补偿也同样成功的，所以其实这个时间段并未限制得太死，还是比较灵活的。
